Every tool on MP4 Downloader is free because one short ad runs before each download or conversion — that is the whole business model: the tools are free, full stop, and the ad is what pays for them. Your browser is currently blocking those ads, so the tools can't run.
Open your ad blocker and choose “Don't block on this site” / pause it for this domain.

Convert GIF to WMV when the target is an older Windows-only system. GIF is the 256-colour looping animation format — no sound, huge for its length, but it plays absolutely everywhere including chat apps and forums; WMV is Windows Media Video — the format of older Windows software, kiosk systems and some corporate training libraries. Upload your GIF, hit convert, download the WMV — free, no sign-up, no watermark.
MP4 is the format everything plays, and the GIF to WMV Converter is part of an MP4-first workshop on MP4 Downloader: bring video in any shape, leave with a file that plays on phones, TVs, laptops and every app — then compress, trim or reframe it here rather than hunting for a second tool.

This page converts specifically to WMV — for another output format use the general converter.
A short ad is shown before processing — it keeps this tool free. No sign-up, no watermark.
Your GIF is treated as a short silent video here: the animation is re-encoded as a real WMV video with proper playback controls and a far smaller file than the GIF itself. File sizes stay in the same ballpark — both formats compress with loss, so the WMV lands within roughly a third of the GIF's size at these quality settings. People make this exact swap when the target is an older Windows-only system.
How to convert GIF to WMV
Upload your file — drag & drop it or tap to browse.
Set any options, then hit the button.
Watch the short ad — your finished file downloads instantly.
Why people pick this over other converters
No account, ever. Most big converter sites push sign-ups and paid tiers for basic jobs. Here the tool just works.
No watermarks and no job counters on standard tools — fair-use rate limits keep things fast for everyone — and a generous 200 MB upload limit.
Private by design: your file is processed in a temporary folder and deleted the moment your download finishes. Nothing is stored or shared.
Fast: this page is a fraction of the size of the ad-heavy alternatives, and the same account-free toolbox has 143 other tools when you need them.
FAQ
Will converting GIF to WMV lose quality?
Both formats are lossy, so the GIF is decoded and re-encoded to WMV at high-quality settings — any loss is minimal, but avoid bouncing back and forth repeatedly, because lossy generations compound.
When should I convert GIF to WMV?
Convert when the target is an older Windows-only system. If your GIF already opens where you need it, converting buys nothing — this swap earns its keep the moment a device, app or upload form refuses GIF but accepts WMV.
Is this really free?
Yes — completely. A short ad before processing keeps every tool free; no account, subscription or credits are ever required.
What happens to my file?
It is processed in a temporary folder and deleted the moment your download finishes. We never store, view or share uploads.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything runs in your browser session against our servers — any phone, tablet or computer works.
